quick linux question..

hey i setup ftp for a few people.. and when they login it goes to /home/their folder/ how can i make it so when they login it goes straight to /their folder/ and they aren't able to scroll up and view all of the files on the box? thanks :helpme

Jail them. Use a decent FTP server like proftpd, an argument like

DefaultRoot ~

will lock them in. Read the docs for your ftp server if it's something other than proftpd, it will most likely have a similar config parameter.
