best software for generating thumbnails?
 

Any good software for generating thumbnailed pages for galleries or inside a member's section?

Just need .jpgs and support templates for each page, variable sized thimbs, etc.

All this time I have been creating galleries manually, mainly because I usually do only movies and haven't found any scripts that can automate the splitting of .rm. (And even if there were, a randomly chosen thumbnail won't do out of a 5 minute movie clip for me...)

Yup, got me. Didn't know Photoshop could do that... At first glance it seems to work OK, and I'll play around with it, but I am not 100% sure so far its as easy or quick to customize as some of the specialized programs mentioned.

At the risk of asking another stupid question, has anybody found a really *good* thumbs creator for mpegs? A perfect one would take a movie as input in dvd quality avi, and generate a gallery of optimally compressed clips and thumbs, haven't found anything that will do that ideally yet...

This is a tutorial (of sorts) that I create for GFY. However, since than I have discovered a way to re-write gallery pages so that you can create galleries with your site logo, and return links to your home page.

I'll search for that one as well. I know I posted it here...
