as each year goes by
do you feel like you're continuing to 'surf' new sites frequently, or is your exploration slowing down? in a general (i'm not talking about business research) sense.
does the internet still seem to be this huge untouched universe, or do you find yourself sticking to the same couple dozen sites? :glugglug |

I know the Internet better than my own pockets. Nothing to see. :)

Ive been going to houseofhorrors.com for years in praise that the guy that owns it update it some day.
:glugglug |
I have a few I visit regularly, but I'm always developing new interests and looking for sites which cater to them.
I'd never seen bartleby.com before last week for instance. I was looking for the collected works of Poe & some others in ebook format. Great site. |
I was just thinking about this the other day. It seems like I have a set 10 or 15 sites that I check regularly. Every year I may replace 3 or 4 of them with new ones.
This seems to be the rule except when there is info I want to find out about something I am truly interested in. That's the only time I really venture out into the WWwilderness. I imagine most non-AOL folks are like this. I think AOL people really surf around like maniacs and end up on pages at random. Thank god there's so many of them! |
Both :)

i'm able to find any sort of info i want quicker than ever before. but i find that i no longer just aimlessly 'surf' like i used to. yet some novel functions of the new apple 'safari' browser have brought me back...
:glugglug |
i find myself trying to surf more than i used to... i don't really surf that much. i got my sites i go to, and google knows everything else.
but, i need to see more what's out there, so i try and spend more time to go out and just see what's what. |
I find myself reading the NYTimes online all the time lately since they stopped charging. I always feel more clued in reading it.

Although I find myself hitting hell.com every once in a while to see if they changed anything. I will tell you, though, about a really good site, the VERY first site I ever visited on the internet, is www.deoxy.org check it out:) |
the only time i look at porn sites is for research ... the rest of the time i surf and shop for anything from sporting gear to vacation get a ways...i should have been a travel agent :1orglaugh
|
remember the days when you would log on and go see what new sites yahoo had listed the night before.
Hell I finished the Internet last year, now I'm going though again just in case I missed something :glugglug |
i still think the Internet is great but definitely alot of the magic is gone. I have the few newsgroups i read and post on, and about 10 sites i check out regularly, mostly sports and news.
I still like seeing links people post to funny stuff like the fat singing kid Andy and the other fat kid doing his Star Wars thing. It's great when the Internet creates a sensation to watch it grow for a month. It's not like TV or movies where everybody sees it more or less at the same time. Internet stars gather steam and it's very old fashioned in the way it spreads. |
The internet is flat. If you surf too far, you fall off the edge.
|
Yeah I pretty much look at the same 10 sites.
