Susan Marilyn Block, Ph.D., widely known as “Dr. Suzy,” is a sexologist, sex therapist, cultural commentator, author, and Yale graduate whose career has spanned more than four decades. For over 45 years, she has hosted The Dr. Susan Block Show and its various formats. Her work gained international recognition through a series of HBO specials that contributed to broader public discussions about sexuality, relationships, pleasure, human connection, and personal awareness.

Established in 1991 by Dr. Suzy, the Susan Block Institute focuses on helping people strengthen relationships, communication skills, sexuality, conflict resolution, and personal freedom through a combination of private counseling services and public education efforts.

The Institute’s therapy practice offers counseling and sex therapy for individuals and couples seeking guidance on intimacy, relationships, sexual wellness, and personal development.

Over the years, the Institute has created educational and entertainment programming for television, radio, and online audiences. Its productions include The Dr. Susan Block Show, Radio Sex TV with Dr. Susan Block on HBO, FDR Radio, Bedside Chats, Sex Calls, Real Calls, Travels with Max, and Dr. Suzy’s Speakeasy. Many of these projects were co-produced with Dr. Block’s late husband, Maximillian Lobkowicz.

The Institute has also published several books, including The Bonobo Way: The Evolution of Peace through Pleasure, The 10 Commandments of Pleasure: Erotic Keys to a Healthy, Sexual Life, and Advertising for Love: How to Play the Personals. In addition, Dr. Block has delivered lectures and participated in panel discussions at universities, conferences, and cultural events around the world. The organization has produced numerous live broadcasts, videos, audio recordings, magazines, articles, interviews, photography, music, artwork, and online media addressing topics such as relationships, sexuality, peace, free expression, art, politics, and culture.
