Male Co-worker tells me “love you” at the end of phone conversations sometimes
 

He has a wife, a side piece, and 5 kids. Nothing gay. Just not sure how to handle it. I hear him tell one of is other long term friends this on the phone as well.
Do I say it back?

probably just a habit from having to say it to a wife and 5 kids? or maybe he wants to get intimate... hey maybe some sexy time for ya soon

There are those that are just affectionate but not gay - say what they feel.
You could simply reply with "right back at you" or "I feel the same way" - but its what you feel comfortable with.

I do the same with people I've known since i was a kid at school, male and female.

Sounds like a catch phrase. Do what you feel most comfortable, "you too", "thx" or tell him it sounds weird.

Yes I will try this . Also could this be a “black thing”? He is white but identifies as black because he grew up in da hood.

Why not just ask him? Or tell him to stop if you don't like it? :)

I tell my friends I love them all the time, especially when we’re parting ways. I’m just that type of guy. Life is too short, I like the people I love to know I love them. I’m also not exactly the biggest social butterfly, takes a lot to become my friend and if it happens it’s because I love you and ima tell you. If you think that’s weird, we’re probably not friends.

Co-workers are not automatically friends. Only say it back if you mean it.

not sure how old he is but there is a chance that as you get older you reflect on life and friends - and start to cherish each one. I never use to say it but after reading this thread I realize that some male friends of mine who are close to me I have said it but appropriate time and place.

Well just went I had it all figured out today we had another phone call. He said he has a 10 inch penis and stated “I will give you 2 inches. 8 inches would be better because I would get laid more”.
