Hotel. That's what I did a couple of years ago when my AC went out. :winkwink:

New homes in GA are not built for no AC - there's zero cross ventilation. The 2nd day it was hotter INSIDE than OUTSIDE and the repair guy couldn't get there for at least 4 more days. Called around, found a hotel that allowed pets, and took off. I had that AC in the hotel down at about 60 degrees. :thumbsup

I lived in a house for about 2 years with nothing but a big attic fan. I would sit at night and sweat my ass off and wake up in the mornings freezing.

You get used to it.

You seriously want them to come to your house quicker??

Tell them you have an infant living in the house.. I can almost guarentee they will show up the next day if not sooner.. At least it works here in AZ.. (well it worked for me)

When they arrive and there is no kid to be found, simply explain you had the wife take the kid to her parents house

If your master bedroom has a bathroom attached just turn on a cold shower and put a regular room fan in the doorway pointing towards you.

I had a NY apartment with no AC one summer. You learn all kinds of tricks when the thermometer hits 102f and you live in a brick building!

The cold shower trick does work. BEtter get, get in it.

One good thing about the dry summer in the desert is that you can use an evap cooler and keep it cold, without turning on the AC... this is the first house I've lived in that's had one and I am amazed at how well it works.

Pull out the Box fans stick them in the window and you'll be alright there buddy!:thumbsup

AC took a dump over here too.. but it was over 20+ years old. No central air/heat in these old houses and really bad insulation. So I had to fork over $600 bucks for a new one, but it kicks ass :thumbsup Remote control, sleep timer, I can leave the house and set it to turn on at a certain time so when I get home the house is cool... now I'm living almost like the rich people with central A/H :)
