AdultStar.com beta launch — honest opinions?

We just launched the beta of a new project called AdultStar and would love some honest feedback from fellow webmasters.

It’s a mix of:

* pornstar profiles
* videos/photos/galleries
* creator monetization
* premium content
* advanced discovery/filtering

Still heavily in beta and lots still being worked on, but curious what people here think about:

* overall concept
* UI/navigation
* performance
* what feels good/bad/missing

Looks great!

Nice start. On beta I would test three things first: does the first screen explain why a webmaster should use it, can upload/search work on mobile, and can a new user find the money path in under one minute. Pretty design matters, but those three decide if people come back.

UI is good, I would suggest you list models by Nationality instead of city.
Generally, no one (audience) cares who directed the movie or photoset. Sure, people know brand names now and have their niche, but no one cares that is been shot by John Doe. I think you have clone this from AFSC, but you average Joe just to see what they are into ASAP be a hot girl which in this day is more a specific model or performer.
The content is you biggest problem. I can instantly spot where you got most of it from, it is old, even the newer stuff is 15 – 20 years old, it shows in style, especial when you have such photoset under the tag of Fresh Faces, and it was a model I was shooting 20 years ago.
You are mostly flogging a dead donkey here, sure I have no doubt (myself include) have all looked and purchased content from this source, listed on your signature, but it is only to fill a hole in content scheduling or because of one model, generally the content is accepted but not overly enjoyed, it was just filler.
Keep that in mind when getting creators on board, I have no doubt you or you team have made the case to justify using questionable quality content, conniving yourselves is one thing, convincing people to hand over cash is another, convincing creators to sign up for a platform is yet another.
To sum it up, curiosity draws people in but retaining them will be where you fail. Some off the content, is shot well and is still good in terms of quality, but getting back to the remark above, it was odd even back when it was shot, and that is why their own websites failed.

The site is good, the content needs to move with the times.

I agree that the content is dated but I guess it's for the sake of testing the site. Don't get me wrong, I dig my faps from the past.

I would make the filter tab scrollable as well. The filter by deceased is morbid but it made me click.

It loaded like a snail for me.

We will add the country filter near the top, as suggested.

The current content is indeed largely older content, but the goal is of course to rapidly expand this with fresh creator content and new productions from both creators and ourselves. We’ll soon be adding 200k+ movies and 1M+ videos, both new and legacy content, although the main focus going forward will definitely be on fresh creator-driven content.

I will look into better explaining the value for webmasters and other adult industry parties, since AdultStar is intended to become a content sharing/distribution platform for the industry as well and not just a creator platform.

Mobile design/functionality has not been the main focus yet, but we will focus on this in the next month. Thanks

And yes, speed should absolutely be better. Performance optimization is already on the list again.

Uhhhh you should have started mobile-first. None of your users are on desktop.

Well we do have a mobile design created and implemented, but I focused mainly on desktop so far. But good call :thumbsup

Besides the content issue it looks good enough to me on desktop. But like Fuze mentioned, mobile first.

could use improvment for mobile with the sorter. text is cut off on mobile. i would shorten the text used for mobile vs what the desktop sees.

You need to fix mobile overflow as it doesn't fit on screen properly (Google pixel 9).

My :2 cents:, kill the adult branding. You would be way better off under a mainstream label. You can have the explicit content visible after user opt-in. That's my opinion at least.

Do you mean we should remove the whole AVS? Or do it differently and give a better impression of the site before you have been age verified?

First and most important - turn off age verification for countries that don't need it. It will make your users leave immediately.

It was not the most happy decision to go with WP and Woo in 2026. In the era of AI, it's not a very secure website.

From the business perspective, very few people would want to pay those prices for photo sets they can find for free. The value vs price is not great. But I guess you know more when you decided to build such a website (not being ironic here).

The animation on top should have been done in LottieFiles, not GIF. Or using a JS animation, at worst.

The positive side is the website looks really clean and nice. I love the day/night switch animation. It looks really good.

you probably need a good theme code audit ;)

you could really do with a proper audit, even your babegalleries theme, i can see some bottlenecks out of the gate, and things that should have been done when the theme was devleoped. not sure who developed the theme, but these items should have been taken care of. not dissing the person who did it, just items that should be done.

i can provide you with a full audit to see what you should be doing to hand off to your developer. this would include queries that are going to be hammering your server, items in the theme you should be caching, etc.

i have been building themes since 2012 for wordpress. many of mine are on sites that server millions of visitors. so im well experienced in audits for high traffic sites. if this interests you send me a dm or chris at jaded.net
