What a FUCKING GOOD show this was.

Yes I was addicted to the show since it started and felt they should have kept it going.

This is what sucks - good shows last only a few seasons then once done suddenly there is a cult following. It had a new twisted XFiles feeling to it

Spicy Wraith 04-20-2026 10:38 AM

watching tv is a huge waste of time

The first two seasons or so were great but then not so :)

Yea, I usually watch Fringe to see the character Mark Prince shit post on a forum he frequents, it's a hilarious side plot.

The first season got me intrigued. I wasn't feeling the final season though. I get that it tied up loose ends, but that's not always a good thing. Mystery is part of what sold the show.

If you enjoyed the show, I highly recommend the Science Channel series, "Dark Matters, Twisted but True," hosted by John Noble.

Noble gives quite a bit of the same creepy vibe, with much less of the fatherly comfort. It's the best modern version of "In Search of" with just as much of a dedication to corny recreations. Like "In Search of," some of the material is a stretch, such as linking Nikola Tesla to the 1909 Tunguska explosion in Siberia. But there's a lot of intriguing history, such as what happened to Einstein's brain, nuking the Van Allen Belt, and remote control humans.

I don't know which episode it is, but there's one where there's a bus or a train or something, and all the passengers are dead. Walter kneels down infront of a seated woman, and proceeds to peer directly up her skirt!

One of the policemen accuses him of being a pervert, but he says, no, not at all, I'm simply just checking to see if she has soiled herself - Im a scientist!

Apparently this placates the police who allow him to continue... ???

I wonder if I could get away with the same thing when I fantasize that a woman on the bus has soiled herself? Probably not... :( Typical 'One rule for them, one rule for us' mentality...

At that point I realized how unrealistic and out of touch with reality the show was, bemoaned the fact that I will never get to check up a random womans skirt for soilage (infront of the police) and immediately stopped watching... :(

EDIT: As I fancied a fap, I had to research the scene, to check it wasn't just a fever dream - While I couldn't find a clip, here's what I did find :)

Quote:

The scene occurs in Season 1, Episode 3, "The Ghost Network".

In this episode, the Fringe team investigates a bus where all passengers have been fossilized (turned into a resin-like substance) while seated. Walter Bishop checks one of the dead women on the bus, specifically looking up her skirt to see if she had soiled herself, in order to determine if the death was instantaneous or preceded by fear/loss of bodily function. We never discover which it was, as Walter is too busy jerking off...

When I watched the show when it was first on, I thought the first season was ok, the second season was outstanding, and 3rd and 4rd were good. I thought that the 5th and final season was .. bad, boring, different....

... but now that I am watching it a second time, I realized I was wrong. All the seasons were really good, and most episodes have crazy details referenced in other episodes. The last season which I am currently wantching is fucking fantastic. The episode "Black Blotter" was so well done, so entertaining to me, I just loved it, especially the Terry Gilliam tribute / acid flashback scene. I liked it so much that I watched it a second time and saw details like a small animated Frog with blinking eyes, hanging out in near the peer. What. Insane. Detail. I love it. And then, the ending... so well shot. Just fucking great cinematography...

Thanks for the recommendation... I never heard of this show.

ARGH... just finished watching the last episode. Wow. I love good sci-fi, and Fringe is about the best sci-fi I've seen in a long time. Even better, it's Time-Travel sci-fi. Who knew you could have a TV show that contained a bootstrap paradox and a predestination paradox at the same time, and somehow make it all work?

Plus, Anna Torv is sexy AF in a business suit. This show checks all of my fetishes....

sigh.

No spoilers, at least never from me. I hate spoilers.

Actually, one small spolier:

WARNING, SPOILER: DO NOT READ:

You know the Observers area, right? Check this out. Before Fringe's first episode and during the course of the first season, The Observer appeared in other Fox shows in the background, in crowds, etc. Even at a live football game. The insane amount of detail and easter eggs like this really made this show a stand-out for me.

It was a great show! if I remember it correctly JJ Abrams had to do something with it. So we being Lost fans at that time automatically become fans of it. Tho I remember the show fell of for me in the last 2 seasons or so (starting with THE famous cameo in far away lands). GOATed theme song as well.

Person of Interest is so good. That was the golden era of TV for me. Lost, Prison Break, Heroes, Dexter. Then came Fringe, Person of Interest etc. Nowadays I only watch Always Sunny and Hedge Knight.
