Hey there! Software engineer here, my first post
Hey everyone! Backend dev with 10+ years in adult video streaming.
Figured I'd introduce myself properly rather than just lurk.
I'm a senior backend software engineer and technical architect, been working in and around adult video streaming infrastructure for over a decade. Not on the content side — I live in the backend plumbing that makes these platforms actually function.
What I've actually built:
Live streaming platform backends — media server architecture, RTMP/WebRTC ingest pipelines, low-latency HLS delivery, broadcaster session management, transcoding orchestration.
I've dealt with the fun stuff: hot account contention during peak shows, sub-second tip event delivery at concurrent scale, and the reliability requirements that come with live traffic you can't pause or replay.
Video session management — the full lifecycle of show types: public broadcasts, private sessions, group shows, tip shows, spy mode. The state machines, access control, session routing, and the real-time coordination between performers and viewers that makes these work correctly under load. If you've ever had a private show bleed into a public room or a group show that wouldn't close cleanly, I've rewritten legacy systems to avoid all those issues into modern, scalable and maintainable microservices.
Token event systems — the show-side mechanics: tip goals, token thresholds that trigger performer actions, real-time goal progress delivery to connected viewers. Getting this right under concurrent tipping at scale is a non-trivial systems problem.
Tech background:
Java (Spring Boot, microservices, the works). Comfortable with WebRTC and media server internals — Wowza customization via Java modules, MediaMTX, LiveKit, FFMPEG and similar. Used to working in environments where mainstream cloud services won't touch you and you have to build on an alternative infrastructure stack.
What I'm looking for:
Remote contract or project work — platform architecture, backend development, streaming infrastructure, or session management system work. I'm EU-based but work comfortably in EST timezone overlap, which covers the bulk of US business hours without issue.
I'm not here to sell anything or spam. I've found that the most interesting problems in this industry don't show up on job boards — they show up in threads like this. If you're running infrastructure that's hitting walls — scaling issues, Wowza limitations (or price gauging), show session bugs, real-time delivery problems — happy to talk.
DMs open.
