Does anyone use .xxx these days?
I have not seen a .xxx for years.
Are they still a thing. They seem expensive now. I think the firm got greedy and charged a fortune and people were not interested in such a high price. I suspect if they had been no more or even less than a .com they would have been popular now. But I have not seen any site use them. |
I just bought dildo .xxx but not quite sure what to do with it yet.
Thats actually the only .xxx domain I've ever bought |
broker.xxx :p
|
I bought dildo.xxx recently. Not sure what to do with it yet.
Other than that, I've never purchased an xxx ever.. Now that you mention it, I also have the impression of seeing .xxx more rarely in search results. That's very subjective though. Do .xxx domains have a bad reputation? |
I'm thinking about buying
yomamma.xxx :1orglaugh |
too easy to blacklist a tld
|
:1orglaugh :1orglaugh . . .
|
I bought two of them when Mojo had a sale of them a couple of years ago as an experiment as I could get very good literal domain names.
They get some traffic, but there is a sandbox aspect to the TLD. |
i cunt a4d .xxx... :(

How much such domain costs, it`s pretty much streight forward. must be expensive is`n it? |
Renewal is about $100, 10x a .com
|
I remember the insane hype and sales preasure to buy a .xxx domain.. freaking insanity. Some people made a shit-ton of money selling those....
|
The business model was to get big corporations to defensively register disney.xxx cocacola.xxx etc, not sell domains to the adult industry.
|
What's the threshold for renewing one of these? I have a few which I got for the $20/year Mojo promo but some others at retail.. :helpme
|
We hedge and have yanks.xxx. But I did not back stop every domain.
|
There's one .xxx domain that's made me over $40k so far.

You can't flex your internet monies and also beg for loans that you don't pay back. |

I have over 20 and yes expensive
|
Yeah, all these "new" zones are overpriced and some people don't understand it's an actual domain. Dot com works as a charm, though hard to find a good one.
|
JT bought lots around 10 years ago. Not sure how many he still has?
|
We have several sites doing well on .xxx domains.
As for the price of renewal? We don't really care about renewals when a domain is making several hundred thousands or millions per year. I would talk more about the link budget then the price of renewal. |
How many webmasters actually bought the domain to promote porn?
|
Stupid Mike's shit notwithstanding; there is absolutely no reason not to use .XXX, .PORN and .ADULT - you will not be treated any differently by search engines, and you have a great chance at getting a short, single letter domain name... though the registration, and renewal prices are very expensive for some of them, I would say that they are well worth the price.
If you are not able to pay for the domain renewal, be it .XXX or .COM, you should probably NOT be in the industry... |
