How hot is your pool water?

It's 10:37 am here in Phoenix, my pool water is already at 84 degrees... by the end of the day should hit 88 degrees....

Record temp last summer was 92 degrees and this is an unheated pool....

Just curious.....

How hot is your pool water?

...before or after I pee in the pool?

nxventures 06-01-2003 10:39 AM

Spa hooked right up to pool, so we keep the pool cold and the spa at about 100. In NH, its hard to get the pool temp up, max without heat is around low 80's, but once on vacation we had a neighbor take care of the pool, and he accidently left the heater on, the spa circulated with the pool for about a week. When we got back, the outside temp was about 80 and the pool was 103. It was like being in a huge hot bath, fucking great. Plus at night, the temp dropped to low 70's, and since the area is fenced, there was a dense fog. With all the trees and plants (let the landscaper go crazy) it looked like a jungle. Very sweet until the propane bill arrived.

104 - woops - that's the hot tub

I agree, unless there is a nice breeze out. You get those strong winds at times like we do. That is when it is really nice. Cools you right down. :thumbsup

Mines about 90 right now...

And it doesn't feel like bathwater at all... when the temperature is over 100 when you get out, there's such a gap in your body temp and the air temp that you get chill bumps.

Wow... 90 already... excellent.

I like it because you can just get in... no easing about it like when I use to live in PA.

I agree... once you get in and get wet... the wind/breeze and be VERY cold! :thumbsup

NBDesign 06-01-2003 01:31 PM

1:40 and 88 degrees.. 4 degrees in 3 hours.. pool is 15,000 gallons... damn it's hot :winkwink:

hershie 06-01-2003 01:39 PM

I am considering swimming in a bit in the ocean across the street. Its 57 F water. It takes a good 5 minutes until I can fully dunk myself or else I fear getting a heart attack if I jump right in.

hershie 06-01-2003 01:40 PM

I did the Polar Bear Swim on New Years Day here in the ocean. I think it was around 40 F. It took about 45 minutes to get the feeling back in my extremeties.

Brrrrrr. no way in hell I could do that....

The Truth Hurts 06-01-2003 01:41 PM

If it ever stops fucking raining (2 FUCKING WEEKS STRAIGHT NOW), I'll remove the cover, and take the temp.

In another thread this guy was saying he had no money. So is he talking about the public pool or what?

Why do you think I have no $$... :1orglaugh

NBDesign 06-01-2003 07:11 PM

Ok... maxed at 89 1/2 degrees...

Hey Roc... I need to ask a question since you are in AZ too.

Do you loose a lot of water due to evaporation? Is there a way to prevent this or slow it down?

I am putting in about 2 -4 inches of water a week.

Thanks.

Kimmykim 06-01-2003 07:12 PM

Dont you have autofill on the pool?

no... just stick the hose in and wait...

AM Jeff 06-01-2003 07:42 PM

Right now, our pool water is about 74-75.
We haven't had much heat here to get the friggin pool heated up.

I put the solar blanket on today in hopes that next weekend, it might be warm enough to go swimming.

NBDesign 06-01-2003 07:44 PM

The thing about AZ is that it does not cool off at night too much... this helps keep the pool water warm... About two weeks ago I think we were only maxing about 80 during the day.

It gets cold down under? I never knew that.. I thought since you were so close to the equator that it would be warm there all year.

But then again... after a summer of 110 here.. our winters are pretty cold too... 40's and 50's

Zprogramz 06-01-2003 08:27 PM

We keep our Jacuzzi around 100 and let it run into the pool during the day.

Z

Joe_Blow 06-01-2003 08:37 PM

Way too fucking cold to go in.

MaxyTyme 06-01-2003 08:40 PM

I went to my boys house in jersey today, and we went to the sauna and jumped into the pool right after while it was raining outside. It was nuts, my body mustve been numb for half an hour.
