My massive fail on Windows 11
 

After a decade of using Ubuntu on my old computer, I'm using windows on my new computer and can't even get Outlook to download email from my server.
"You may need an App pass". Huh?
This works easy on Ubuntu with Thunderbird email.

I feel like I'm a first time computer user on W11.
There is so much stuff in my face that I'm overwhelmed.
McAfee keeps popping up. You have to pay to use MS Word? WTF?

I'm thinking about the happy people around me who don't own a computer.

I have no clue. I bought a new computer 2 years ago and only now trying to use it.

Did you spend 15 years without using any MS products?

I read my email using Alpine on a Unix box via SSH. Kept me largely safe for years now.

no I've always used MS products but had to not only get windows but purchase Office suit to use the email options among other products

Windows 11 is a total shit show and costing Microsoft millions. Many people are abandoning it and going to Linux.

(Windows 12? A bigger shit show; Microsoft is doubling down on Co-Pilot and AI everywhere. I hope Microsoft goes the way of AOL one day. Fuck them.)

Once Steam drops the new Steam Machines, with their support for Gaming on Arch, it's over for Microsoft for Windows.
