i'd guess whoever is selling this crap is known to many webmasters.

Then when you have all the free crap on your hard drive you have to delete 99% of it cos it's simply not what you want.

well, if he's got a big enough customer base, and sitting at $149 a pop, one could purchase memberships at sites, and use this program to download it all for the end user. you could even be sneaky and have the software proxy to his server so it gets around the ip-based members section protection. still wouldn't get around the daily download limit on some software, but it'd get some of it. or, he stores it on a remote server, but that would take up so much real estate and bandwidth it's not likely.

these things pop up pretty often, none have been very successful but it's good to make their lives miserable cuz their intent is to steal bandwidth and content from adult webmasters.

Our programmer said he could build something into the lease gallery that would just disconnect anyone doing that. Something about the speed of the download.

Thats right! Getting shit for free. I want em to get plenty of shit for free, as long as it stinks the more the better. This isnt going to be any different than kaaza or usenet or the tgps, probably 98 or 99 percent of what they get is going to be a bunch of crap. Which they have to spend lots of time sorting through to find what they want, if at all. Would be better if it was 100 percent shit, but nothing is perfect. The more shit people get, particullarly for free, the more likely they are to pay to get away from it. The key is to make sure that its shit and only shit that they get for free. And that you have something to sell that isnt.
