I was correct that age verification would kill the online porn business
Over the last few years I have stated that age verification would kill the porn business. And I was correct.
Many said it would improve things. The firms behind age verification businesses thought this would make them rich (perhaps it has). Some firms openly sponsored some porn firms who in turn seemed to promote age verification thought If I remember one porn firm in the UK has a bike ride event with age verification firms sponsored on the clothes. Age verification now has done what I said it would and that was to kill off porn. People do not want to upload id. Indeed even firms who think they have age verification are now being told it is not good enough. Basically unless your system puts most of your customers off then the age verification is probably not good enough. Forms are now getting fines. Admittedly many of these firms may be outside the UK and could ignore the fines. However the chance is that they may be blocked from the UK. What a mess things are. However as I said for years, the ones to make a profit from this mess are those who simply pirate the content. |

Somehow after all this time, you are still clueless

copy text - remove age verification or AI then insert introduction of Tubes is going to kill the online porn business.
Be interesting to make a list of all the hype over the years as to what will kill the industry but hasn't |
the big companies care about it, but primarily it is bankrupting UK-based porn sites.
i think it mainly affects companies with age restriction laws in their home state/country. however there's been cross-state lawsuits. its definitely fucked up. the sites adding age verification have a huge disadvantage to those that don't/ :2 cents: ps. i thought DVTimes was dead :1orglaugh #porncms |

I've implemented AVS for a handful of clients. The average cost is hundreds of dollars per month, easily covered by a small increase in subscription or VOD price. The adoption rate is 90%+ for users.
I don't agree with AVS. I dislike that it's being adopted. I think it's the wrong path forward, and will cause a lot of damage to not just this industry, but any Internet-connected industry--but the data so far seems to suggest that the majority of people are willing to give up their privacy in this age. |

Is GFY like THE place to make a thread and be like "this is my opinion, it's mine, there are many like them, but this opinion is mine" ????

conversion rate is probably DOWN 90%. maybe you got 90% adoption of existing members, but 1. why the fuck would you need to verify existing members, and 2. that's bullshit too. #porncms |
Soon the ID verification will be centralized, so basically every adult will be verified, because like it or not, you will need it to log in to your bank, insurance, etc. Those apps will then be used to access adult websites, too.
And obviously there will be easy ways to access adult sites even when being a minor(just ask some adult to verify the app for you), so nothing will change when it comes to protecting minors...but that was never really the plan, was it. |

Yeah, it works sometimes... but... Anyways, congrats guys. Looking like X and Reddit wins. |

Why it cant just be used across to board to say 'Yup, he's nearly 60' or just 'Yes, he IS an 'adult' I really dont know... |

How come the society didn't collapse before these age checks.?
|
We see a drop but its not dying or dead. ALso Im guessing This is an adjustment period. People are not yet used to the new process. Soon it will feel completely normal and widely accepted that an ID upload is required for almost anything online. Im more worried about search engine search switching to AI search. People getting info directly from AI makes our review sites obsolete. And I still haven't figured out how to successfully promote adult on social media

Out of the age verification that can have impact, OF is killing the live webcam bizz :(

I do not think many of you understand the UK government and presumably other governments. This is not about protecting children or anything. It is a back door method to bring in censorship and kill off porn.
They will just increase things slowly until porn is dead and they have full censorship. In many ways not only is porn dead but so are websites. The internet is basically now YouTube, tick tok, instagram and facebook. And even they are drying up. The internet will just be a few phone apps soon to do your banking and a few other bits. Online porn will be dead within 5 to 10 years. If it lasts 10 years I will be amazed. Let’s face it, it’s been years since I came on gfy.com and people had something new. It used to be daily people would have new sites or new ideas. It’s been dead for years. Nothing new. Basically just promote the same old sites. That said I also get the feeling affiliates have long gone. Once this place was full of affiliates. But probably many left as tunes took over. Let’s face it, many sites do not even bother with fhg’s these days. It’s getting dead even before age verification. Age verification simply was the last nail. And by the way, there is tons of free porn. Go on Twitter you can see all the free pirated porn you can dream of without paying. |

We have seen a drop all around this year, but our UK conversions have actually gone up (at some programs), by specifically targeting easy age verification related keywords uk keywords. Edit:and i'm a retard, someone with an above average IQ will surely adapt to any changes without problems |
