Do you use the airport lounges when you fly

When flying, do you sit in the normal lounge area or do you prefer the private & classy lounges?

With a lounge pass, drinks, magazines, quiet & relaxed with your own bedrooms, games rooms and cinemas in your own private lounge for long airport stays the next time you fly & for a low cost fee... :thumbsup

I've stayed in airport staircases, and churches. Slept on a pew.

Been in a lounge once or twice free when the layover was long and the airline generous. Busy in there.

Only ones we typically use are Heathrow, O’Hare and Schwechat.

They tend to be well maintained and they have great food and service to boot.

That said we’ve also stayed in the terminal areas and sometimes depending on the airport the service is just as good as a lounge…. LHR, MSY and DXB specifically.

Centurion... best one Ive found so far... getting a little more crowded lately though.

Frankey 11-12-2025 05:43 AM

Yes, I do. I always go into one of the premium lounges.

Free to fly if you say you´re a pilot & need the lay over :winkwink:

Depends on the airport. The waits at US-based lounges are getting out of control. Nowadays I'm usually happier just posting up at a nicer bar/restaurant.

Flying international though the shower is nice, and the more hours the layover the more likely I am to use the lounge. Also depends if I have access to a first class lounge or just biz.

Come on though why are you spamming a refcode for loungepass here :1orglaugh

I only do walking distances . . .

Wait hold up, is this a PAID sponsorship post?

We just see this Lounge pass today on one of the affiliate programs we use & legitimately thought it would be great for people to gain low cost lounges...

thought it was acceptable to add a referral link, nothing wrong with passing on the savings & appreciate a little back, wasn´t mean´t to be spamming, was suggesting a good cost saver for those that fly a lot...

feeling bad for adding that link now :(

I used to when I flew out of Stanstead - It was shit but better than the rest of that nightmare airport...

WiredGuy 11-12-2025 06:31 PM

Its the only way it'll get me to the airport early :)

My credit card gives me access to most lounges but I hardly take advantage of it, lounge's are fun for 15 minutes then boring, there's better people spotting and entertainment at the cattle gates.

GAMEFINEST 11-12-2025 10:03 PM

once or twice, its alright, i prefer public ones

Wifey's been to Qatar twice this year. She's served champagne when she gets on the plain, has a sleep pod with all the luxury etc, and after all that, raves about the lound at the private lounge in the Doha international airport. It's as big as a mall, private showers, more free booze, etc...

I considered promoting private jet cards. https://privatejetcardcomparisons.com
Don't see their aff program link but maybe they still have one.

Honestly it really depends on the trip. If it’s a short flight, I’m fine hanging out in the regular lounge area with other people. But if I’ve got a long layover or I know I’m going to be stuck at the airport for hours, the private lounge upgrade is almost always totally worth it.

Retiree 11-17-2025 05:04 AM

For long airport stays I rather book a hotel near the airport, even if its just for 5-6 hours, its well worth it.

djroof 11-17-2025 10:40 AM

Normal lounge, no money for VIP experience :P

Airside transit hotels (after security) are so good!

Yes, but sometimes not even those...you get much more bang for your buck if you take a taxi or subway and go 5-10 minutes away from the airport.

Forest 11-18-2025 07:41 AM

Almost never. I’m the kinda guy that likes to walk thru security and get right on the plane. Why waste time in a lounge when I get all that in first class.

fastball 11-18-2025 10:26 PM

Are you serious? Why would you not buy a hotel or a lounge pass? I was just in ZRH two weeks ago with a whisky club and showers. I wouldn't consider a layover without a lounge... On Thai, you get a massage with a silk komono, white table cloths. On LH, you get a huge tub, a rubber ducky, Cuban cigars, a bedroom and they drive you from the plane in a Mercedes. And then there are the credit card lounges in a pinch. Gary, I know the biz ain't what it used to be, but sleeping on a trolly? Damn, that's 19 year old back packer shit.

lol... it was 20 yr old back packer stuff lol...

this was back 20 yr ago.

We left the hotel, got in the taxi and went to the airport, pretty drunk from the drinks throughout the day in Dublin. After we got into the airport & through security, realised the time, realised we were going to be staying there in Dublin airport the night, most of everything closed up & realised the hotel, a pretty nice, luxurious room, was paid for that night too :helpme :1orglaugh
