Tom Jones rocks
In the last two years I have seen him in two television concerts. I can't believe how awesome his performances still are. This man is going to go right on kicking ass until he dies.
The Welsh produce a lot of musicians for such a tiny piece of land. I wish the UK would send us more people like Tom Jones and less people like the Spice Girls. Have any of you seen Tom Jones in concert (especially in the last five years or so)? Is he really still as energetic and good as he seems on TV? I hope so and I hope he comes through Michigan/Ohio/Pennsylvania. I'd love to go see him live. SpaceAce |

We saw Wayne Newton in Vegas Nov of 2001... He also puts on one hell of a good show. Not a fan or anything, just wanted to see one of the last of the Vegas legends now that Sinatra, Martin and all the other legends are dead.
Figure I better see one before they are all just memories. Excellent 2 hour show and well worth the 50.00 per ticket. :thumbsup |
I seen a Tom Jones tribute last week (Legends Alive) Does that count?

Sexbomb, sexbomb, you're a sexbomb You can give it to me when I need to come along That song kicks ass. Delilah, It's Not Unusual, What's New Pussycat, Thunderball, She's a Lady. Tom Jones has an awesome catalog of songs. I normally hate covers of songs I like, but Tom even does good cover songs like Mama Told Me Not To Come. SpaceAce |
Saw this thread a while back and meant to reply to it... for some reason it just came to mind a few minutes ago.
:glugglug He's gotten weak. His voice isn't what it used to be, he gets out of breath too easily when performing. He was performing before most of us were born, but... for example... to compare a 1965 performance of "What's New Pussycat" to a current day performance, he makes his current day self look pathetic. His voice is still strong to an extent, but it's fading, and it's clear when he sings live. He was recently given some lifetime achievement award on tv here, they showed archived footage of past performances then they had him on stage singing. I thought he was going to collapse. He's 63 years old, he's bound to get out of breath. OK, once upon a time he had talent, and it's kind of sad to see it fading away. Fucker should give up whilst he's ahead unless he wants to go out like Tommy Cooper. :2 cents: |
The sexbomb blew up long ago
