I fucking hate moving...
So we found a really nice listed 3br property in the heart of Newcastle a few months ago, they accepted £15,500 below ask so we're happy about that, it's been on the market for a little over a year.
We move in 3 weeks time, now we get to endure all of the hassle of figuring out what furniture we want to keep and what we'll be donating. Thankfully, I'm too lazy to do the packing and unpacking myself so we hired a couple of pros to do it for us, if I'm not responding to PM's as quickly as normal the next few weeks you'll know why. Incidently, the cost of removal services here in the UK is fucking mental, £3200 (almost $4500) to move everything, about 4 miles down the road and that was the cheapest option including insurance :helpme Now to sort out swapping utilities and internet connections... Pics to come at a later date. |
First, congrats on your new digs!
And yeah, moving sucks... but once you're moved in and unpacked you'll love it of course. Enjoy! |
Your time is worth more than that.

I used to move A LOT back in my teens and 20s, and yeah it was a total hassle every time.
But once I got settled in, it was always an exciting time getting used to new surroundings. Congratulations on the new place. |
I worked for a moving company when I was a young kid out of the Marines. In fact, I ran a moving crew. We did mostly household local moves. Show up on a Monday, put everything in boxes, pack it into the truck Tuesday, unload the truck Wednesday, unpack it Thursday, and had Fridays off. After you've done that a dozen times it's easy.
We've been living here at our house for twenty years now. We plan on staying here another ten years and then we are going to sell and travel a little bit. I secretly want to move to Italy. |
