The Clintons want Bush reelected

.. so says political strategist Dick Morris.

------------------------

The decision by Bill and Hillary Clinton to keep a high profile going into next year's presidential campaign amounts to a "conscious effort" by the former first couple to make sure that no Democrat wins the White House in 2004.

That's the stunning assessment from political strategist Dick Morris, who said Thursday that the Clintons actually want to see Bush re-elected so he can retire just when Mrs. Clinton is ready to run for the White House herself in 2008.

"There is a conscious effort going on by the Clintons to distract attention from the current field of candidates," Morris told nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity. "They do not want a Democrat to win in '04."

I generally give NewsMax the same creedence I give the National Enquirer, but coming from Morris its an interesting theory.

How is keeping the spotlight off of other candidates any more deceptive than Bush managing to keep the spotlight off the economy in the months leading up to the last mid-term elections with saber rattling at Iraq?

the funny thing is they are setting themself up for failure. Bush will win in 2004. Then they will have to go up against a tough ticket in 08 that could possibly contain Condi Rice as the potential first black ever vice president.

Hillary only appeals to the far left, and women I suppose, the majority of which already vote to the left. I dont see her getting much swing vote. Its hard to run for president when so many people hate you already.

Yes, I seem to remember a lot of people saying that when she was running for Congress. Which is why she lost.

Oh, wait.
