The Like Whoa Solution - Webair Hosting
I'm reading the boards today, and I'm seeing the frustration of my fellow professional webmasters.
I switched to Like Whoa in early late 2002, because I thought of the good deal I was able to get on my hosting (40 Cents A Gig) with 24 hour customer support. Well, I heard previously that Like Whoa was slow and had a history of downtime.. But I felt like I should trust in them... Well... It didn't take long to see my downtime The Worst was a 11 hour downtime that almost caused me to lose a preferred submitters account Not to mention the sales lost..... My trades suffered GREATLY and pending galleries were denied/rejected The worst part of this ordeal was when I called Like whoa I was told "Should be up in about 15-30 minutes" We played that game for 11 hours Like a good customer, I gave them another chance... but the next time I had a downtime, nobody answered the phones? Nobody answered ICQ, it's as if they adopted a policy to not talk to customers during a downtime. I couldn't take anymore... I made the best decision of my professional webmaster career and switched to http://www.webair.com They took care of me, and waived their set-up fee because they knew what I had been thru with Like Whoa I'm no Big Tymer.. I'm a 2000 Gigs a month ebony niche webmaster and they treated me like I was as important as a major paysite program looking for a good reliable host. If your looking for a great host... With great tech staff... You need to check out Webair.com |
Like Whoa sucked from the beginning.

Only good thing about them is a pen i got at their booth from this bitch. We told her we wanted to talk with Stan about 10's of thousands of dollars we were owed, and I got a pen.
Pretty sweet deal. |

Host with clickman now. Very good host! |
Latern, holy deja vu! 2 months with them caused me many preferred submitter accounts and I was accussed of 404 trickery by some of my biggest and most trusted partners. I stand firm by my 2 hosts now, swiftwill and hahahahahaha, both are rock solid. Anyone looking for hosting can't go wrong with either of these 2 places.

hey it subbed in hahhaha for the name of my other host, whats up with that?

what ebony sites do you run?

We moved to WebAir 6 months ago and like Platinum Lantern, we too think it's one of the best moves we have made. They have admins over there that know their shit AND are around to make things happen. If you go to WebAir, you will meet great guys like Sagi, Will and Brian to name a few of the techies. Not only that, Mike will cut you a deal you can't refuse and not because he's a Corleone!

Wassup Markell..
I bumped into a few of your sites earlier this month.. nice looking sites you got there my main project is www.rapvideohoes.com and my future paysite www.cocoaporn.com |
the only experience i have with webair is that i had
to cancel my fucking creditcard because they couldnt stop charging me random figures. This was back in 98 or 99 tho. When i mentioned this in a thread a year ago or so Webair did contact me and made me an offer to compensate that experience. Things have changed and havent heard disturbing shit since. And really.. LikeWhoa's concept and setup is one a lot of companies can learn from. I did several design projects through them and they really satisfied(tm) me and people i refered. Likewhoa without hosting could have been something big and promising in this industry. |
YEAH HOSTING SPAM DAY, HOORAY SPAM!
|
Oh.. and as an addition..
When it comes to hosting i've learned there are only 2 companies you can trust: rackspace.com and xfr.com . |
you make more with ARS then any program?
they suck 10x's more then any program i have encountered. 1:5500 |
We have had servers all over the place in the 8 year internet history of VirtuCon. We had boxes at Like Whoa. When we moved into Like Whoa, we were incredibly happy. Their pipes were fast, reliable, and their tech support was second to none. Unfortunately, things change. A couple months ago, we had to move our boxes out due to external pressures.
Where did we go? Webair. And we're still there. </fable> |
welcome to the webair fam Platinum Lantern

ya, ya , ya Sure they were good for a bit of time. So what exactly is your point? If you are referring to that they were good because it was free to you, then sure I'll agree. Something tells me though, you didn't experience much if any down downtime at all. Something also tells me you are not out of pocket for anything either. I'm not slamming you either. I'm interested in your thoughts. Please share with me. |
