Adding Fonts In winXP
 

Ok i have a font that my graphics guy sent with my site and id like to add it so i can make more stuff in PS.

I copied it to my font directory and then rebooted. Still nothing.

Can anyone help?

you copied the fonts to control panel/fonts or windows/fonts?

have to goto the font folder and hit file > install new font.

no option for installing a new one.

do you have XP?

I use a freeware tool to automatically install my fonts..

btw i put the font file into:

c:\windows\fonts\

where the others are

when you move the font files into \windows\fonts they install themselves automatically

No matter.

go to control panel

i just have the one file named:

FRIENDS_.TTF


do i need another one?

adding fonts in xp is as simple as copying and pasting the ttf file.

you must be kidding.

fletch i did copy and paste it into the DIR and it didnt work.

Now i went into control panel and went to "install new font" and found my font. But when i click OK, it says its already installed!

So i went ot the fonts DIR and deleted the one i put there, and tried again .... same thing.

they are telling me it is installed, but i cant use it in PS

restart your computer. then PS will find it. or just restart PS. that might do it as well.

thats the thing.

im on Xp, and just installed fonts this morning.

while in photoshop i can copy and paste the ttf files to my fonts folder and edit texct (WITHOUT REBOOTING) and Photoshop has it in my font list.

xp installs fonts as soon as you paste them and they are available immediately, at least for me they are.

no clue why this guy is having so many problems.

my guess is its USER related and not computer related.
