kissing ass to the states is not in Canada's best long term interest. they are not the only people to trade with. And contrary to popular belief, we can not be threatened by them to follow their lead. want to see how fast we can get a war going? impose restrictions on us...we set the tone. our macroeconomic policies are sound, and will continue to dominate the G-8 for many decades. as far as trading partners...that would hurt us for a little while. until they change power down south..we should be distancing ourselves.

if you read his remarks..you will notice they are very direct, and deliberate(sarcastic-cynical)..he doesn't care about bad mouthing the states, or Bush.
i for one applaud him. he will be flamed in the media and by all his opponents. do you really think Bush and his organization has any clue? look at history, they have repeatedly fucked the economy up.
when the people who were backing Clinton get back into power...maybe the states can clean up it's reputation

Canada needs to step up to the plate as a nationto lead and carry a stronger international voice. Sometimes when dealing with certain types of people. It does pay to make light of them. I think that is all he is doing. Is the Bush organization going to change Canadian Maple Syrup to Freedom Maple Syrup?


our tax structure is good, although i think it has to be fine tuned...the steps in the graduation should be a little finer. trust me, i hate paying taxes...i was totally for taxes wheni was still in school as on paper it is the best long term strategy. my first job..dell i made roughly 63k and got killed by the tax man...it was the real world. now i it is different i tax myself, and cannow invest the money before the government gets any..so it is easier.

to give the middle income earners..say 40-60k a year a little break...most would reinvest anyway, RRSP's for houses etc
everyone i know wants to buy a house, but is hitting a barrier.

For the most part I think that Chretian has done nothing of significant value since he has become PM. Mostly he just tries to blend in and not make any waves that might upset people. Having said that, I am glad that he does not feel he needs to bow to the states every whim. It is nice to see him outlining the sharp differences of opinion between him and Bush on abortion, death penalty, finance etc. But I still think he is a dick.

There will be a new leader soon, and I sincerely hope they do something constructive for Canada, and Canadians!!
