i've owned the domain for 12month, never developed it
because i'm not sure if i'd get into trouble (copyright)

what should i do, is it worth something ?

Host it in the netherlands - even clubseventeen.com is allowed here :-)

its a dud...sell it to me cheap :)

I think he is more worried by "penthouse".

Beware, it is a trademark. Since you are asking the questions, I presume you have a feeling...

I would drop it now, before putting any effort in it, that will be lost.

Oops - my misstake! I would ask them and wait for the reply - if they say a no no then i would try to make a deal... banner spot or something.

Penthouse was a word long before it was amagazine. I would look into it before I gave up a decent domain name like that one.

Duh! Why don't you make them an affiliate? Contact me & I'll put you in touch with them. [email protected] - If that doesn't work then forward it to an exsisting legal teen domain. But, then again, what do I know? I'm just a newbie here but not to the biz.

Stay away from the domain name.... A couple of years ago we owned some domains with the word penthouse in the name and the Penthouse lawyers came after us.... Long story, but if you do not feel like dealing with legal fees do not buy the domain name. They probably will get their lawyers after you if their trademark name (PentHouse) is used.

They will challenge it. No doubt, at least when you have some traffic / SE visibility for it. So, it's not worth of effort. I had same situation with Playboy's "playmates" word, which was a part of few domains. I decided to shut down these sites finally when I got a letter from their legal dept. and after short chat with my lawyer.

Penthouse is trademarked for "adult entertainment". Your intention is to put out something confusingly similar, therefore you are a trademark infringer and the fines can hit up to 5-6 figures.

Sound worth it?
