I hate not having Kmart, Sears and JC Penny
Fuck!
I miss being able to go into these places and pick out what I wanted and they had plenty. Customers could actually try on clothes to find the best fit. Online shopping ain't the same thing. :disgust |

Just make Amazon your bitch.

Who cares.
Now, Radio Shack was the bomb. I miss it. |
So many stores from my youth are now just POOF! gone:
Radio Shack Bambergers Sam Goody Grand Union Woolworths Toys R Us Tower Records Ugh I'm old. |
Kmart, Sears and JC Penny are notorious for having the most lame clothing. Is this satire? :1orglaugh

There was a store in Seattle back in the good old days called Magazine City. They carried every publication in existence. It was like the internet, before the internet. Loved that place. Long gone, of course.
Tower Records and Radio Shack are missed, along with all the independent record and book stores that made up most of University Way. |
When I first saw this post my first thought was "Why, just use Amazon". I fucking love Amazon. Then I remembered this week I bought a new laptop - a Microsoft Surface Pro. I did some price shopping and quickly figured out Best Buy was much cheaper. Then the problem was finding the exact one I wanted in stock. I had to hit two different stores to get it (one for the laptop and one for the keyboard) but saved me some money. Plus I had it in an hour, and didn't have to worry about Amazon dropping off a $1k plus package on my door step.
But for nearly everything we use Amazon. |

I miss the store that sold Levi's and whatever kinds of shirts were "cool" that month.

We still have a JC Penney here in Austin. As a kid I always remember them being a "nice and expensive" place to shop.
