Why do all movie tickets cost 10 dollars?

Why is there no movie ticket price competition?

Bex 05-29-2003 08:40 AM

Price fixing. Mostly fucking people over, cause they know people will still pay to go.

And price fixing is illegal, right?

Because you are going to a rediculousely oversized mega movie plex with 24 screens, a food court and an arcade. These places cost a fortune to build, require an enourmous staff, and only ever fill one or two theatres at a time. Go to an old theatre with only 2 or 3 cinema's, you'll pay $5 or %6 and there will be less intoxicated teen girls laughing at their bf's through the movie. Food and Drinks are usually cheaper at the small theatre as well

I wait for it to some out on DVD... I hate going to the theater... noisy people... crying babies... over priced food and drink... Not worth it. I have a Toshiba 65" wide screen, sony surround sound stereo system... Hot air pop corn popper... Next best thing to being in a theater....

It costs the two of us approx 25.00 - 30.00 to go to the theater... A dvd averages 22.00 plus, I get to keep it and watch it again if I want.

Now, which is the better deal? :Graucho

huh

I still pay $6 at ACM with 24 screens.. am I missing something?

Movies here are £3 for students (about $5), and a bit more for generic "adults". The only place I have seen it cost more are the theatres in downtown London, where its about £8 (~$13). I think it is still about $7.50 back in my hometown.

Movies here are from $3 to $4

Universal City Walk kicks ass for movie and a bite to eat.

You can go to the IMAX, step in for a drink at BB Kings Blues Club, hit the NASCAR virtual runway and tons of more shit. Hollywood doesnt lack lights and entertainment thats fore sure.

They have a pick any restaurant, and movie, and 8 bucks off parking, right now, awesome treat for the womens. ;)

Fun place. Especially when the Universal Monsters are out at night.

Ô Jer, por que o preço dos filmes não mudou mesmo com o real desvalorizado???

Hey, Jer, why hasn't the price of movie tickets changed even with the real (brazilian bill) devaluated???

ldinternet 05-29-2003 04:58 PM

$10 for a fucking movie ticket these days?

Last time I went it was like £3 ($5) at the Warner Bros cinema.

Well you can always go before matinee and save money.

or

Goto college and use a college id to save a buck.

We have different prices in different cities..

In a 10min drive I can pay $9.50 or $8.50 for the same movie, same seating etc.
