new york real estate

is it just me or the prices of homes in new york are getting out of hand. A decent home in a good neighborhood cost over 800k now

It's just you. Obviously.

your best bet is to research whick communities are receiving the most funding for developement from the city and to buy there.

a good way to double your money in less than 5 years.

there was a study done recently showing that NY's house prices are the most inflated in the country-

It's true that NY property is increasing. Alot of the areas are being revitalized to chase the undesireables out which is good in a way but on the other hand its not. They are building up the Park Slope section of Brooklyn and now you can't even touch an apartment there and you used to be able to for around $600 to $800 a month but no longer. Since they have been gutting all the old buildings and adding coffee shops it has been attracting the "yuppies" There are quite a bit of sections in the city that would be nice if they removed the "trash" and cleaned out all the crackhouses. Oh well, our wonderful mayor is doing wonders for the city....... :1orglaugh

More value in Florida and you still can surround yourself with pushy New Yorkers. :1orglaugh

Yea you pay out your ass to live here. Im thinking of moving. Upstate NY is not so bad but its still NY. We have been hunting for a nice waterfront property and lots of land included but the choices we have found thus far are not worthwhile. Something eventually will come along
