FREEBSD changing user privileges?

"chmod" for perm
"chown" for owner

i am logged in as root and type mysql> but is says access denied for [email protected] i think i fucked something up afew days back

Basically i wanna get into mysql and play around

chmod +sex0r 666

can ya clarify , you need to write it like i am a guido i dont understand

try this

/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -u root -p

Get webmin =P www.webmin.com will make your life easier

Yer, sounds like the permissions table is screwed if you can't get in as root from localhost.

There is a script that comes with mysql for resetting it I believe. There's a guide here:
