European Lee 05-27-2003 07:33 PM

Take one fresh cat...

Pop it in a liquidizer...

Run it through a sieve...

Voila... instant pussy sauce :thumbsup

Heat through for 5 minutes... add to the pasta...

Okay. Don't panic. If you're having pasta, try this:

sour cream, half stick butter, 2 cloves garlic (or less depending on taste preference), pinch salt, sprinkle of either oregano or parsley whichever you prefer, and 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese. cook this until it's smooth (toss the parsley on as a garnish, last)

Insta cheap alfredo sauce that actually tastes good.

:thumbsup

You putting it on pasta? A bechemel aka whitesauce would work.. Put two tablespoons of butter or margerine in a pan, melt it, then add equal parts of flour, stir it around and then add milk, add about a cup to a cup and a half, but KEEP STIRRING IT or it gets lumpy. keep doing that until it thickens (a few minutes), add some salt/pepper and some parmesan cheese.. Tada, Alfredo sauce.

You'll owe me a drink. Use medium heat and don't burn it, I eat this quite often (or I did before Istarted my no-pasta dieting).

Enjoy! :glugglug

Um, yes, it's basil, pine nuts, olive oil and garlic, ground to a paste.

If you had pesto sauce, what the fuck did you put the rest of that junk on there? Toss the pasta in it, sprinkle liberally with parmesan and grind some fresh black pepper on it.

That's all you needed to make the sauce, since pesto is a sauce that is meant to stand on it's own.

AmeliaG 05-27-2003 10:42 PM

Pick up the phone and order delivery :)

Kimmykim 05-27-2003 10:46 PM

I'm still waiting to hear how it tasted, since honestly, food with no fat in them like the yogurt do not stand up to heat well at all...

the texture simply doesn't hold...

What you should have done fillmore...

was post what was in your fridge/pantry and then we could have gone from there...

it could have been like The Iron Porn Chef...

HeadPimp 05-27-2003 10:48 PM

Anybody with half an ounce of a brain wouldnt have added all those healthy alternatives to increase their cholesterol levels by piling on a moutain of Parmesean IMHO.

Lee

Butter, string cheese, parmeson cheese, a little garlic. I'm on a diet and that's what I'm craving on your fucking pasta so it must be good! Now eat it and tell me what you fucking had for desert.

kristin 05-27-2003 11:55 PM

Take some oil and garlic in a pan and sautee it and then add some oregano and basil and let that simmer and you have a perfectly good oil based sauce that tastes yummy! :thumbsup

grumpy 05-28-2003 12:51 AM

Who gives a flying fuck! now :321GFY

KRL 05-28-2003 02:00 AM

Just heat olive oil, chopped garlic, a pinch of salt, butter and parsley. Mix the pasta into the pot so it really absorbs well. Then some grated parmesan on top and you're good to go.

Its the fastest sauce you can make and one of the best tasting.

I've recently discovered a new pasta sauce that is ultra delicious.

Emeril's Sicilian Gravy

http://www.emerilstore.com/images/ps_sg120.jpg

Ingredients:Crushed Tomatoes, Water, Tomato Paste, Fresh Onion, Canola Oil, Fresh Eggplant, Fresh Garlic, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sugar, Salt And Spices.

Why to women? I mean, if you can't make pasta correctly with a little of immagintion it's not that you're a man, it means you still live with your parents.

I lived 10 years in Italy and I have to say italians know how to make pasta, but it's not magic.

Actually, there are literally hundreds of kinds of pesto. It can contain literally everything from truffles to parmesan cheese to nuts to olives to dried tomatoes. Also, it can be used for nearly everything, from a stand alone sauce to sauce base to soup base to a spread for ciabatta.

True, but what KimmyKim mentioned is what's best known in the States. And Kimmy, you've pointed me toward an awesome Sushi joint; now it's time to point me toward a place for good pesto...drool...I just had to snack on some pine nuts to help quell the craving...

Oh and punkworld, you just HAD to mention truffles, olives, and dried tomatoes...and ciabatta...damn...I hope I never see another hamburger again...

Hey, several years ago I worked for a "French" "Bistro" (it wasn't much of either, but hey...) that had on the appetizer menu a thing made of mostly of toast topped with shrimp, tomatoes and a few other things...I don't think parmesian was involved but I'm not sure...anyway it was just yummy; if anyone has a clue what it might have been called, I'll be most appreciative. I'm drawing a blank. I can find about ten million shrimp/toast recipes on Google but none of them sound like what I'm looking for...

Who woulda thought I'd be trolling on GFY for recipes...BAM!
