I'm being quarantined for SARs
 

Damn it! Just when we thought we won the fight against SARs it laughs at us. Know what the prob is that many people don't take the quarantine seriously.. doesn't help. Including my parents "we don't care if you are on Q we want you to join our party on Sunday". Yeah right! Then God forbid if i actually got SARs all the people at the party will have to be quarantined, will become a news headline and fined upto 10k.. not fun I tell ya :(

And what if you didn't get or spread SARs? Will you be awarded upto 10 grands? :Graucho Don'tcha worry Pam, I'm sure you are fine :)

Missed my point, the mortality rate is at least twice that of the flu. As for the number of infections I agree it is low.... now.

You also missed my point. I never said the SARS mortality rate was low. I said that more people get infected and die from the flu everyday and it's EXTREMELY HARD to get infected from the SARS.

Well without the media hype it could get much worse. China would prolly never even admit to be the source of SARs.. can't believe they actually eat catmeat (primary source of SARs). I heard they also eat monkey brains.. eww.. reminds of Indiana Jones btw. Anyway, like I was saying it's a good thing SARs got the media hype (bad for TO economy though) also much more dangerous than flu.

I agree with the opinion that SARS is a fucking joke.

First of all, all the fatalities I've heard about were old people who already had respiratory problems. I haven't heard of ONE case of someone dying from SARS who was under 60 or in decent health.

Secondly, the only people who will acquire this disease are those with weak immune systems to begin with. DOWN WITH MEDECINE! It only makes your body weaker !! Only medecine I can agree with is vaccinations, as you are infecting yourself with a small dose of the disease so your body can build up immunity (as opposed to medecine, tylenol, etc... which only build up dependencies)

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it =)

Actually, you can be charged criminally if you break a SARS quarantine.. But I agree SARS is mostly media hype, it's not quite the crisis (at least here) that people are making it out to be.
