Interesting Concept
 

I've been thinking about going to the Planetwork conference-there will be people there to network with who are interested in seeing the geospatial project I started, and other things like it, take off.

While I was checking out the conference site I came across this <a href="http://www.venturecollective.org/?id=817">non-profit venture fund collective</a>.

Now I know on the surface that sounds oxymoronic.

The purpose of the fund is to bootstrap worthy causes that are expected to produce returns.

Whatever financial benefits are produced by each venture get cycled back into the fund. Very simple concept.

It looks like they just got started, but they seem to have some great people involved. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this.
