Looking at last years numbers I didn't really feel a pinch in the summer.
Business grew every month from Jan-May, June and July were flat to May (didn't grow but numbers stayed about the same), started growing again in August.
Somebody told me their theory on the summer slowdown was that webmasters go on vacation and/or don't work as hard, so if you count on webmasters to send you traffic you'll experience a slump but if you do all your own promotions things don't really change much.
