Amazing how things change. When Skype came in everyone had to jump in and ICQ was gone. Now it appears that North America generally likes Skype while overseas prefers Telegram or Slack.

My first icq was 5 digits.
Then somebody offered me $1000 for it and I needed the money.
So I went to eBay and looked up, short icq and found one with 6 digits that closely resembled my phone number. So it was easy to remember. That guy wanted $50. So I sold and bought and swapped.

I once toured a local dotcom in 1999, I told the receptionist who I was there to see, she typed something on her keyboard, and I heard "uh oh! uh oh!" down the hall...

I only sell myself short . . .

I am on Skype less and less....

ICQ was great when it was at its peak. It was so easy to round up a ton of webmasters and get them to look at something all at the same time.
