Currency Question

I need to pay someone living in India, can I send them a personal check so they can cash it at their bank? Or do I have to use wires?

I would go with Money Order or Cashiers Check before a personal check. Western Union or wire transfer is good as well.

His bank is gonna take a while to clear the check. Plus it's going to take a while for him to receive the check. Send a wire, that's quicker. And it's not THAT much more expensive if you think about it.
