Took me a bit to get this riddle...

How many times a day does the clock read the same digits in a row?

Example:

1:11
2:22
3:33
4:44

Etc.

sarettah 10-18-2023 01:46 PM

5........

Nice try, but zero is considered neither positive nor negative yet still considered a number and you don't see 0:00 on a clock.

OneHungLo 10-18-2023 04:04 PM

1:11
2:22
3:33
4:44
5:55
11:11
12:12

x2 because am and pm?

I didn't search anything. I just looked at what you had and then said 5:55, 6:66 and said well there isn't anything beyond 5:55 so that makes 5.

Simple deduction whether it is correct or not.

I see that onehung added 11:11 and 12:12, I missed those so that would make 7 and as he said X2 so that is 14.

But I didn't cheat and I take umbrage at the accusation.

12:12 doesn't meet the rules...yet 11:11 does.

..and yes am/pm counts..so the answer is 12.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

22:22 if you’re using the 24 hour format

mechanicvirus 10-18-2023 04:57 PM

12 and 24 based on standard time and military time.

the real answer is 32 based on the Borg from the Delta Quadrant. I don't make up the rules, I just know them.

sarettah 10-18-2023 05:24 PM

42......

ZTT 01-04-2024 04:12 AM

1: What starts with an "e" and ends with an "e", but only has one letter?

2: What isn't a verb, and isn't a noun, never has more than three letters, but definitely doesn't rhyme with LOG.

Eacherry 01-04-2024 06:30 AM

16 times

czarina 01-04-2024 08:17 AM

it depends... regular time or military time? ;)

I've heard this one before I think, the word is envelope, right? not gonna cheat and look it up. I'm not a scoundrel like Sarettah

(SO just teasing you S, I know you don't cheat at anything)

ZTT 01-05-2024 04:57 AM

Well Googled! ;) That's the official answer I think, but the weirdo in me (ie me) can't see why it can't just be "E". I guess that's what you're supposed to guess, 'wrongly', but why is it wrong? I think if you specify word, which I didn't, hmm...

Anyway, I did just do a search and apparently this is complicated/controversial matter. Possibilities:

1. Envelope
2. E
3. Eye
4. Maybe more

(3) supposedly because it sounds like I or has just one letter between the Es.

Maybe the UN can sort this out, if they're not busy right now.

I only really used it as a distraction for 2, which is annoying to be the 'victim of' but fun to inflict on other people. :)
