That definitely isn't the root for porn, it is just an example of the assimilation of early romance languages. I do see your point though. It all depends on your religion -- how literally you take the bible, or what your bible is. Some religions would have 90% of the world going to hell, others not. But I really do think you can be in this industry and do a ton more good than harm -- it is all how you lead your life. I have friends in porn that I would trust a thousand times more than kids I know in the Peace Corps.

There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that the modern word pornography is derived directly from a combination of the greek words pornea and graphein to make pornographos.

It was invented to describe artistic depictions of prostitutes and their customers engaged in sex. The modern word pornography not only comes from the greek, but it means exactly the same thing today as it did originally.

If you truly believe, you don't need to do so in a church.
