Stolen Content working for Amateur pages?

Just been informed that this guy is stealing pictures from one of my clients to push traffic to Amateur Pages.

Anyone know him?

Just got this from my client

Quote:

I just took at look at some of this assholes urls. I think all the content he's using is stolen. He has content from almost every content provider there is. I did a whois search and the guys from Russia or some ex-soviet bloc country. Why is it that every time I find someone stealing content from me he's from Russian? Being Polish, I never trusted the Russians I guess.
I'm going to take a look and see what else this guy is stealing from me and my customers.

Kenneth K 05-25-2003 02:10 AM

looks like some ukrainian guy:
http://www.whois.sc/erobeauty.com

his account # for AP is 18485661 - if you cannot get a hold of him, ask AP to cancel his account

Paul Markham 05-25-2003 02:16 AM

This guy does not give a shit.

Anyone know Amateur Pages Terms and Conditions regarding pirated content?

Kenneth K 05-25-2003 02:23 AM

or contact [email protected] with the url - and they'll prob. close down his vhost instantly

Paul Markham 05-25-2003 02:23 AM

It appears he has been warned before and just carries on stealing.

Can't see anything about not using stolen content here. AP Rules

Paul Markham 05-25-2003 04:18 AM

No problems, found the email address of AP.

This guy is in trouble.

That was my initial reaction, complete disbelief. Most of them are as honest as the day is .......

This guy it seems just goes around stealing others TGP pages and redirects it to his sponsors.

He's actually stolen from one of our clients and redirected it to another. This client kicked him out and stopped the check. :1orglaugh

Zappu 05-25-2003 07:17 AM

Looks like it's the same guy I had problems with. I forced the free host to take down his site and also the sponsor to freeze his account.

They have done it immediatly, but there are so many free hosts and pp out there....

Lensman 05-25-2003 07:28 AM

If the guy's a theif, we'll shitcan him.

We can either ask him to remove the stolen content or produce a license, or we can terminate his account. Your choice. In this case, I prefer the latter.

Mikey 05-25-2003 07:33 AM

prove he stole the content.

jcnlv 05-25-2003 08:01 AM

Considering there is nothing in Lensman's affiliate rules forbidding the use of stolen content to promote his sites this is not surprising....

Been like this for years... as long as there are no kiddies or bestiality it appears all else is OK...

Lensman already said he was going to nuke the account. I don't think you should have to write into your terms every specific illegal thing your affiliates can't do. Some stuff they should just know.

Toker 05-25-2003 08:23 AM

They Take A Gallery Off The Net And Put It On Their Server

That refer # probably isn't even his, they just want the gallery to add recips too and submit and when it shows movement they change it to an OffShore Pay-Per-Click Redirect Loop ya gotta shut down to get out of!

THIS ASSHOLE DOES THAT ALSO...
If Ya Have A TGP Blacklist These Domains

CHECK WHO HAS THAT ACCOUNT,
and see if it's the same as the domain register

She's right. It goes without saying. Hitbots also go without saying. So does not hacking a server to host your galleries. We don't allow illegal activities, and it goes without saying.

Lensman 05-25-2003 09:04 AM

On another note, something disturbs me.

charly's thread title: Stolen Content working for Amateur pages?

Basically says that AmateurPages steals content. A word of advice Charly, if you want to be around here, it would be best to not start threads with slanderous titles.

Thanks Lensman

I think the latter too. Ask him to produce the license to re-instate the account. Don't want to condemn him without a defense. :)

The more we do this to these guys the harder it will be for them.

I have never sold to anyone in Russia, he stole the design. But if he can find our license, signing the rights for him to be posting this way.

I'm prepared to give him $500 worth of content, no fuck it $5,000 worth of content.

candyflip 05-25-2003 09:14 AM

He asked a question...nothing slanderous there. If someone is using stolen content to promote your program, doesn't that mean that stolen content is "working for Amateur Pages"?

slan·der ( P ) Pronunciation Key (slndr)
n.
Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
A false and malicious statement or report to discredit or malign.

Yes could have worded that one better.

Give me a break... :1orglaugh

If that is the case then there should be no need to mention kiddie porn or bestiality...
