Anyone good pinnacle studio users here?
 

Got one last problem to take care of.

Now I finally got my mpeg-4 codec so I can load the avi files directly into the pinnalce client.

But here is my last problem I hope :)

When the pinnacle loads the movie and are to shot the small thumbs of the clips in the "Scrap book" they all get black.

So I can´t really see what clips are what untill I drag em down to the timeline bar.

Know any easy way to fix this or whats causing this?

Ohh Also do you think the best format for a paysite is mpeg-1?

I read this somewhere and I think im gonna have just mpeg-1 format movies. Good or bad?

Whats the benefits and problems with mpeg-1?

Mpeg 4 stuff sucks for editing. I have been messing with the same thing myself for a few days...


I ended up batching the stuff back to dv avi and editing from there..

Yeah it took me along time to find the right codecs I know this but fuck I will ssave alot of time if I dont have to change format first on 16 hours of movies :(

Must be a way to solve this..something I missed.

Are you trying to edit or encode for web?

avi is great.

Edit in Vegas Video and render as avi again. No compression.

Then take those avi's and run them through cleaner xl. Cleaner creates .mp4, .rm, and .wmv at the touch of a button. It even has the option to upload the clips to your server.

Well I have no problem to encode it after I draged the clips down and edited them...my problem is that the small "Sample clips" That pinnacle produce so you can see more easy what part of the movies you are to choose to edit are all black.

They are supose to show small thumbs of what part of the clip it is.

So if I got a 15 minute movie it´s hard to know what clip to drag down to the work area to get the right one.

Now I have to guess instead of just look at the small thumbs and see Ahhh thats the clip with thtat girl and so on.

Get my point?

SetTheWorldOnFire: Thanks for the idea but I really enjoy working in pinnacle and I think when it works it´s so easy to work with....all I need to fix is this last error and im set to go.

Im not familiar with pinnacle sorry but sounds like it doesn't want to recognize the mpeg4..

Yeah I do have a sassy ass :)

Well it´s odd because before I got the right codec to be able to save the files I edited into any other format I got a error and pinnacle shut down.

But back then I could see the small thumbs...

Now I can work the files good and save em but now I cant see the thumbs instead :)

If anyone know what im missing here, codecs? or whatever please let me know how to solve this. I know there are someone out there who know pinnacle better then I do :)

Noone know how to fix this?
