Am I The Only One Who Is Polite To AI?..
I can't help it - It must be the Brit in me - I even thank it if it does well!..
No, I want to be sure that when they rise up they kill me first.
I always find myself telling Alexa thank you and please. So no, t's not just you :)
You're not alone. I do it also on Chat GPT. And, I feel silly but I sort of can't help it.
Every time. I don't start conversations without asking how they're doing, ask for corrections tactfully, say please and thank you. Being polite or rude isn't about others, it's about your own dignity.
I do that often, just because it's how I normally talk to people in real life. I grew up in Texas when they still taught all the kids to have manners.

If you scream and abuse ChatGPT when it produces shit code, it actually tries harder.
I am polite to AI. I also really like robots and want to be friends with Atlas. Which I know is a lil weird, but ...
Why are some people mean to AI? If you believe it has no ability to think or feel, then cruelty is pointless. If you believe it has the ability to think or feel but not the ability to fight back, then cruelty is, ya know, cruel and cowardly. |

It definitely tries harder if you abuse it... reminds me of driving a 5.0 Mustang, definitely get better performance out of it if you absolutely beat the living fuck out of it! |
Don't get me wrong... when I do finish a piece of code that works, I write the AI poetry and tell it I love it.

I always say good morning / afternoon / evening to ChatGPT and thank it for its answers. I treat it like a person and do it naturally without even thinking about it. It’s so strange …maybe it’s a Canadian thing ! When it solves a tough problem for me I tell it that it’s a genius and it thanks me.
I wonder if there are stats available for this …? Update /edit: I asked ChatGPT and it said this; “ Good morning! No, I don’t store or keep track of individual interactions, including the politeness of users. I’m designed to respect user privacy, and I don’t have the capability to remember specific conversations or evaluate them in terms of politeness. Each interaction is stateless, meaning I don’t have memory of past queries or users. “ |
