Nicotine does. There are better ways of taking it than smoking.

If you really want to be a great writer you have to smoke. Sine qua non . . .

What do you recommend? I used to get so much more done it seemed when I smoked. I quit a long time ago and would never go back, but I do miss that nicotine stimulation. I tried the gum but it was meh.

Cigarette smokers are literally the biggest idiots alive.

Imagine willingly poisoning yourself slowly to death.

Years ago it was proven that smoking was beneficial to the treatment of dementia... basically nicotine helps the brain function better...

Then the anti-smoking lobby got involved and now its transdermal patches with nicotine are helpful for the treatment of dementia...

This is where science and factual findings part company.

Nothing is better than inhaling a drug to beat the brain-blood barrier.

If there was, crack would be distributed in patches and not rocks smoked in pipes.

So yes smoking cigarettes helps with dementia - the onset of and the treatment of... but that has to be weighed against cancer and heart issues... so probably patches, while not as good as smoking, would offset the other health issues.

Smoke'em if you got'em

something like 90% of schizophrenics use nicotine.

it's not conclusive, but there's some evidence it reduces symptoms.

speaking from experience (i have slight schizophrenia symptoms), when the symptoms hit, nicotine helps a LOT to get through it.
