OK, we already knew it because of some of the weird Japanese porn sites and those "shitting figurines" but damn... I just happened to channel surf into the end of a Japanese game show.

First: A person is engaging in an activity where they run up hill while big papier-mache boulders are rolled down on them. After the competitor got knocked over by a rock, the commentator said "Nothing hurts more than passing a stone that size!"

Second: The narrator refers to someone as [First name] "blood in my stool" [last name]. Ther announcer then goes on to make about four more crap jokes.

Third: There were a shitload (ha!) more ass-and-crap jokes.

Now, one contestant is nicknamed "brass balls" and another is a husband-wife dentist team. The announcer says, "He's an oral surgeon and she just likes oral."

This is all in about three minutes of game time. I wish I could remember all the other scat references.

It was on TNN. It's called something-extreme-something. It was absolutely bizarre. I've seen bits and pieces of Japanese game shows, before, but damn...

All the commentary is just stuff that was dubbed over to purposely make it even more insane.

The show wasn't quite as fucked up when it originally aired in Japan. But the commentators are the best part now.

I seriously doubt all those scat and dick jokes are invented by the translators. There's plenty of evidence out there that the Japanese dig the weirder stuff. Doesn't matter to me, either way. I just thought the show was funny.

Don't you find it odd that the "commentators" have American names and often reference American culture?

The show was dubbed over with us in mind. A friend saw the show while in Germany, she said it was still hilarious but the commentary wasn't the same.

It was called Takeshi's Castle when it aired in Japan. I think they are just doing like a Mystery Science Theater 3000 spoof with the intentionally fucked up dubbing. I like it. Kinda like Kung Pow.

Japan has a huge poop fixation, no clue why.
