Opera is a pile of shit
I changed some setting in IE6, can't figure out how to reverse it, so I took the short route and installed Opera.
I have to say... what a fucking pile of shit. There were problems with the installer (stalled at 100% so I had to retry again and again and again) and it even crashed on me. It's supposed to be fast? It's not. IE6 is easily the fastest brower I've used. IE6 is king. |
Opera used to be good when it was slim and fast, but it was buggy as hell. Now it looks good and doesn't crash but is too filled up with stupid, slow and useless features.
|
Opera sucks... Gives us developers a pain in the ass for those nerd fags trying to be different by not using IE or Netscape.
|
i use it for surfing..fucking fast as hell though

Anyways, if you have broadband, you won't notice much of a difference if you use Opera. |
dont think I have heard of opera until now.

In a perfect world everyone would run IE 6. This isn't a perfect world. :2 cents:

Obviously everyone using IE 6 would not result in it being a perfect world, but I think in a perfect world everyone would use IE 6, or whatever the equivalent is at that time. :glugglug
Yes, Lynx rocks. I don't think plain text is all that pleasing to the eye, though. |
I've been using Opera for over a year. Never seen a popup since. The only problem with Opera is that some pages (few) aren't displayed correctly but that is the coder (webmaster)'s fault and not the programmers of Opera's fault. I still use IE for testing pages I coded and things like that but I would use Opera exclusively if I could. Best and fastest browser on the market.

Get Mozilla, it owns. SpaceAce |
Mozilla is a bigger pile than Opera.
Stick with IE6, and dump Avant on top of it to add all the features IE has yet to implement. |
Opera > IE.
|
I like Opera. People go on about how you have to code for the 1%, blah blah blah. If you code correctly, and within the w3 HTML standards, your pages will look the same in Opera as they do in IE. It's just a lot more strict in the way it renders HTML. Less "default" properties, i've noticed.

Opera doesn't handle java/js well. Mozilla/Netscape do not handle i f r a m e s well. Make your stuff work with IE and test with Mozilla/Netscape.
If you need or build with js, Opera is not an option as of v7.0 at least. |
Agree,opera sucks:thumbsup
