Anyone else having mental breakdown over icq errors and shit?
 

I can't stand this!! Jeezus christ I've tried lite, had to reinstall it twice. Now I downloaded icq pro 2003a and it won't even stay on for more than a minute.

I had to reinstall mine the other day, it was erroring out about 5 times a day

Where do you get the older versions? I can't find them on the site.

I use Trillian it's a suitable replacement for the actual ICQ program while still being "ICQ" along with Yahoo!, MSN, AOL and an IRC client.

I had these errors last night RRed...i thought I had to uninstall it but I found a very simple trick. Go into your program files and in the ICQ folder click the database converter. It should work perfectly after that

I just reinstalled and it seemed to cure it for now... 2003a I think is the one I am using...

What kind of computer? I've noticed that Sony laptops seem to have issues with icq - you might try ICQ lite --

Why abuse yourself with ICQ.

I hate ICQ, I cant remember anyones UID. I hate telling people, "yeah I'm 29873598237583, IM me sometime". I'm surprised its so popular and has lasted for so long.

i usually have no problems with mine but the other day it started that illegal error shit and i haven't been able to get it to run since, tried restarting ect, don't want to upgrade to 2003, i hear its the worst build ever.

Rrred, had the same thing here about 2 weeks ago.
I had reinstall twice just to get it to stay on....

but beginning on Wed. I now have 3 of each person on my list!

I just installed Trillian. Hopefully it will be a better experience. People were saying my ICQ messages were blanks?

I was using reg icq, got a new pc and when I went to reinstall all my software, etc I said frig it and downloaded icq lite.

Well after trying to hold a conversation with someone and only half of my text going through he told me that icq lite is unstable. SO I installed the new icq and now dammit it doesn't give me message history like the other version did and other random erros. I too am surprised it is so popular.

I'm going to try to download the older version now and hope it works!

Using icq lite on a laptop, I get that same blank text problem but only with certain sessions... mind if I pop a few of them prozacs?

Perfect! It's working perfectly now. It took forever though. It was going through everything and said that I had only 300 names on my list. I thought I had alot more than that. The whole reason I went to icq lite the first time was because the prior version I was using wouldn't let me add anymore people.
