Some questions for bodybuilers!
What is the best Creatine product? Muscle Tech- Cell-Tech, any good? Creatine by Weider?
is ZMA any good? Anyone taking testosterone pills? Anyone taking Glutamine? Are weight gainer products any good if you dont reach your desired daily calorie intake? Anyone having Carb drink before/during workout? Like CytoSport-Cytomax And what's your daily protein/pound ratio? |
I build my middle-torso with beer and by sitting on my ass 16hours a day. Works like a charm :2 cents:

"Creatine": Sucks, does not grow muscle, all it does is satuarte the muscle temporarily.
"Glutamine": A must for builders, helps healing time. Healing time is what grows muscles. "Carb drink before/during workout?": A large apple or bran muffin 15 mins before a workout is king. "Are weight gainer products any good if you dont reach your desired daily calorie intake?" Protien, protien, protien. 50% intake should be from shakes and bars, and 50% from food intake. Fish, beef, chicken. You wanna grow muscle, eat atleaste one gram of protiedn per pound of body weight. If you weigh 200lbs, eat 200 grams of protien. coming soon, www.musclemode.com good luck |
basic creatine monohydrate + dextrose. mix it in some juice.
best bet is to get 30 grams of protein every 3 hours or so. maybe more depending on your weight. if you're not man enough to stick a needle in your ass, don't take gear. pills are hard on the liver. i try to get protein shakes with glutamine and use that once a day for my glutamine intake. much cheaper that way. weight gainers are fine to get more calories, but chances are you'll pack on fat. meal replacements like met rx work much better but they cost more and you get less calories. but you do get a much better quality product than a weight gainer. personally i would rather make my own weight gainers. one supplement i would recommend is glucosamine. its cheap and helps your joints. its great if you do a lot of heavy lifting. |

Anyone taking Glutamine? yes. maintains muscle when cutting Are weight gainer products any good if you dont reach your desired daily calorie intake? yes, but why not have an extra bowl of pasta or an extra chicken breast at the end of the day rather than drinking chemicals. Anyone having Carb drink before/during workout? Like CytoSport-Cytomax sugary carbs + protein after workout then 1hr. later big meal. And what's your daily protein/pound ratio? 1gr./lb |

If you are truly a bodybuilder then you would know that MuscleTech and Weider are the worst companies to choose from, MuscleTech being way overpriced and Weider having the same products from the early 90's.
Creapure is the best creatine around and is a fairly good price depending which company you go with. When speaking of testosterone pills, there aren't any great testosterone pills. 1-AD is the best andro pill at the moment, and Testosterone-X is the best injectible testosterone. Glutamine is superb, natural and beneficial for muscle healing. If you wish to take a gainer, Prolab's N-Large2 is the best, since the other brands just puts on a lot of fat, while N-Large2 has minimal fat per weight ratio. You shouldn't drink anything other than water just before/during a workout. The reason is blood will be used to digest that liquid rather than being where it is needed, in the areas where you are lifting to allow a better workout. Fruits like apples are best since they digest very quickly, so 15 minutes prior to workout is best for consuming such food. It's recommended that you have between 1g and 1.5g of protein per pound a day. |

and i think if you really want to gain muscle, most people suggest taking 1.5g's of protein per pound of body weight. which is usually very hard to do when you're only getting protein from food, but, i nearly manage it... 4 cans of tuna a day at 32g's each. 2 chicken breasts at nearly 70g's each... usually 4 pb&j sandwiches, 5 or so eggs |

http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/english/prote...1/2001_60e.htm Peanut Butter such as JIF, Skippy, etc. are ok to be consumed every once and a while, but 4 sandwiches a day can be bad for the bodybuilder. Peanut butter such as JIF, Skippy, etc. contain Hydrogenated oils, which result in the clogging of arteries, which reduces proper blood flow over time, resulting in reduced maximum workout, and can lead to heart-disease being the number-one killer of American men and women. http://www.cspinet.org/new/oilchange.html |

For guys with girlfriends and wifes a little secret about ZMA. I read it and it works. It makes PMS and cramps go away . Sometimes gets it really bad and she is a monster, she takes ZMA and it mellows her out. What it does is , it deals with the hormone woman secrete when getting their period. Its the one that causes the miserable behavior and cramps.

regarding the tuna mercury thing...
"Washington (April 14, 2003)?Recent fresh fish health advisories do not pertain or apply to canned tuna. Canned tuna is one of the safest protein on the market today. Even though the primary focus of the most recent consumption advisories has been on certain species of fresh fish, canned tuna has often been improperly implicated. This has some consumers confused and others alarmed. The public needs to know that canned tuna poses no health risks associated with mercury content. REALITY: Recent advisories cautioning against consuming large fish such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish simply do not apply to canned tuna. For example, fresh swordfish has a methylmercury concentration of 1.0 parts per million (?ppm?) and fresh shark has a concentration of 0.96ppm, whereas canned tuna has a concentration of only 0.14ppm. For reference purposes, the FDA Action Level is 1.0ppm. REALITY: Recent seafood use restrictions on certain fresh fish species simply do not pertain to canned tuna. Failing to explain these differences to consumers is denying them valuable and beneficial dietary information. Canned tuna continues to be a safe and wholesome source of protein, vitamins, and other beneficial nutrients. REALITY: Canned tuna is an important part of a balanced diet. As part of a balanced diet recommended by experts, canned tuna can lower the risk of heart disease, ease the pain of arthritis, provide a low-fat source of protein for those watching their cholesterol, and add vitamins and minerals. REALITY: Normal consumption levels of canned tuna pose no health risks. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration, American Heart Association, and other health organizations have noted canned tuna as a healthy food choice and an important part of a balanced diet. The U.S. Tuna Foundation is the national organization representing the processors and fishermen of canned tuna" http://www.crni.net/canned_tuna.htm |

I swear by Hydroxy-cut, Nitro-Tech and Cell-Tech. Muscle-Techs meal replacement bars kick ass too. No need for testosterone Pills, L-Glutamine is a good side addition...but the Stack is pretty much fool proof, if you work out hard, and...exercise. |

Okay, the hubby wants info, so here's his questions.
A cheap alternative to protein intake is milk and eggs...specifically putting milk and eggs in a blender, and maybe a scoop of whey protien. All in all, this shake is giving me about 70 grams of protien. Is it healthy and effective, or is there something else a bit cheaper or more effective? Today was his pecs day and he started working on his second circuit and his pecs weren't tired at all, but the ligament connecting his pecs to his shoulders was screaming at him and he had to stop due to that. WTF?? He's having trouble developing his lower pectorals. He's been spending a lot of time on decline bench presses and it doesn't seem to be doing shit. What to try now? Thank you. We now return you to your regularly scheduled Tala. |

A recommended for before bed is to take a slow digestive protein called casein, which is found in Cottage Cheese. This is because you tend to sleep at least 6 hours, and you don't want to be on an empty stomach during that period or else weight will eventually be lost. Doing excerises routinley lets the body get used to the exercises. You, or your husband, need to switch it up every couple of weeks. Rather than using a bar, try dumbells. Or simply don't do it for a couple weeks then hit it again, and you'll notice an increase in weight lifted. Your hubby also might have met his platue, depending on how long he's been working out, which may mean he'll have to go to steroids to notice increases past this current point. |
I've read the body can only process 40-50g of protein per meal/sitting anyway.
