How long does NETSOL hang onto a deleted domain?

I have this domain that I registered with Network Solutions, which expired over 3 weeks ago. I want to re-register it with a different registrar, but the damned thing is still unavailable, because it's registered to me.
heh
Is there anything I can do?

AdultNex 05-24-2003 04:44 AM

It depends from time to time.

Netsol is quite inconsistent, and it can range from a month (very rare) to a few months, before it will drop.

Netsol has held a few damn good ones for over 2 years.

JamesK 05-24-2003 05:18 AM

hmm are we talking about renewing here?

gothweb 05-24-2003 05:31 AM

You should have initiated a transfer, instead of waiting for it to expire.

they can hold them for xx years if there is some dispute.

Yeah, Netsol sucks balls. They're one of the registrars that take the longest to drop a domain name.

LOL, I know.
Actually when they notified me that it had to be renewed I tried to log in, but it wouldn't accept my password, nor my answer to the "what's the name of my favorite pet" etc. bullshit. Then quite frankly I forgot all about it, the domain isn't really a huge priority for me, and I thought I'd just let it expire. Afterwards I suddenly thought of a better use for the thing, but it was too late.

I'm waiting on one that expired almost 2 months ago. :feels-hot
