AaronM would you shoot steel round out of an ar?
 

I bought 1000 steel 223 rounds at some gun show. I talked to the guys at the store I got the gun from and they say they will screw it up..

I know what your talking about now. I saw one that went almost the full length of the barrel at that wide width. They look killer.

Depends on what you are using it for. The new AR I am building will be for competition shoots and I have not even started looking at scopes yet.

Yes I think that is it but the barrel ended at the hand guard.. Must have been the floating hand guard with a short barrel..

Either gun show guys just wanted to sell ammo or gun store guy wants to sell my spendy ammo.

I am on the gun store guys side and dont want to shoot them but wanted to ask for second opinion.

Personally, I would not shoot them. Tracers rip barrels up too but the military still uses them.

Is his ak 7.62x39 or 5.56mm?

There is Ak at the local gun store for $300 that shoots 223 or 5.56 as you put it.. I never really unserstood the translation

Its dirt cheap out here.. Chaffers romanian Ak was like $350 and its a decent gun.
Besides the ammo was $100 even if its a peice of shit its a cheap date considering I got the rounds already

OK...Nothing wrong with those...Not real good for long distance accuracy but for fucking around they are fine. Steel case is way different than a steel round.

I have about 4000 rounds of that same stuff here and have shot about 2000 rounds of it before.
