I hear the DJ's on local radio here talking about Burton Cummings, former lead singer of the Guess Who, and many of them call him "Bloaton Cummings"....... ha ha...... sorry Bloaton.... uh, Burton. I know it's wrong to laugh at fat people, but damn. That shit is hilarious.


Winnipeg has renamed our old Odeon theatre as "The Burton Cummings Theatre for the performing arts"..... we have a sports community center named after him, and the guy has won more music awards over the past 40 years than you'd care to imagine. He has been described as "Canada's favorite son" in the past. But damn.... I still laugh when the DJ's call him Bloaton.


Same with Anne Wilson of Hart. Certain DJ's have called her "Steamboat Annie"...... BWAHAHAHAHAHAAA

Anne Wilson of Heart has always had a problem with her weight much like Carnie Wilson, daughter of Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and ex-member of Wilson Phillips. It is usually heredity, Elvis always had a problem with his weight even before the pills (look at his mom's weight & you can understand why).

I've been slightly confused by those Christina Agulera pics that have been posted.

Ann Wilson had gastric banding surgery over a year ago and has lost over 60 lbs.

Jerry Lewis on the other hand is not 'fat', but is bloated by drug treatment for several health problems he's faced for many years including chronic back pain and pulmonary fibrosis. He's only recently come back into the public eye to speak out and let chronic pain sufferers know about the spinal cord stimulator that helps by sending an electrical pulse to the nerves in his spine to stop the 'pain signal' from reaching his brain.

I aplaud him for having the guts to come forth and speak out in a industry so thin-concious.

They just did a concert last year and Burton looked fine. It was Randy Bachman who looked like he ate an entire village. The important thing is, they still <B>sound</B> good.

Oh yeah, another Winnipegger..... Randy Bachman, for sure he's a heffer on wheels. When he got BTO together for a brief tour several years back, local DJ's were heard calling them "men without necks"

I was pretty shocked when I saw him but it isn't like he was ever skinny. He was always a big man. He was so huge at that concert, though, that I'm worried whether he'll make it for another year. He really looked awful.

Still, like I said, they <B>sounded</B> like the Guess Who (and BTO when they did some BTO songs) and that's what's important to me. Burton is, I think, about 56 and Randy is 59 but they still rock. If you couldn't see how old they were, you'd swear they were still 30-year-old musicians in their prime. Burton still hits every note in "Undun".
