Why the fuck doesn't the Gov't come up with a debit card?
until a few years ago it was free to make a cash purchase - you used cash. Simple enough eh? the gov't paid the cost of printing the money and securing it against fraud and counterfit.
With cash becoming an online commidity - why isn't the Gov't stepping in and handling it? Debit cards are replacing cash - thus it should be GOV'T controlled and not privatly controlled. it should be FREE to use a debit card like it's free to use cash casue it's controlled by the Gov't. Long term - without huge gov't controll over debit cards different banks will begin to devalue currency from non-favorable banks- via excessive fees. we're already starting to see it. The debit card system of instantly transfering money needs to be Gov't run. FUCK THE BANKS - my money doesn't exist for their pockets. |

the gov't wants to see cash extinct. more people using debit/credit cards = more tracking/tracing = more big brother = more control = less tax evasion.

I live in Australia. It's free for me to use my debit card. They don't charge me anything on any transaction.

The problem is the underground cash economy in the United States is too enormous to eliminate it. The IRS now estimates over $1 Trillion in income is derived from unreported cash and barter type transactions. A lot of people benefit from a cash economy that have the political clout to keep things as is.
Disrupting that segment of the economy would create massive economic chaos in the entire world's financial markets. |

eventually all the governments will try to get rid of cash, and make up some credit form or some shit in order to trace all the money in the country back to communism... |

That's interesting. I'm sure there are costs associated with that system, and it's FREE! How, I wonder, do they prevent the merchants from burying that cost in the cost of the merchandise? The answer is, they don't...which means YOU are still paying it. |

I don't like the idea of the government having DIRECT access to my money...call me a terrorists I dunno

Interesting idea, but you probably don't want the government controlling your financing do you?
|
in USSR, they did not pay money to the people, they gave them tickets and credits, in order to keep everyhting under control (you did not have to even pay taxes, because it was all already taken)
