working on a toolbar (i await the public crying about this, everyone has them, so dont start with me about it pls)... anyhow, we can get it to work in msie 4 and 5 but not 6... what does one have to do in msie 6 to edit the users registry and override MS's autosearch to msn and google? thx in advance =)

install google toolbar and then check your registry

programmer already tried that, im not technical in the slightest, wondering if someone can help him from this obstacle...

Make it so that they have to reformat to get rid of it. Also, make sure that you don't make a Mac version. Thanks.

on your XP/win2K CD there is a "support" folder
Inthere you will find a program called "Winstall light" or something like that.
It is used to make Installation packs .. long story

This is what you do:

1 - remove googlebar
2 - Install Winstall, and make the "before install" run
3 - reboot
4 - Install googlebar
5 - reboot
6 - run winstall and make the "after install" run

It will now build you a .msi pack - AND (this it the important thing) build you a list of the changes made to your system during the install - that way you get the answers to your question :-)
