Amex Blue card already has a chip on the card, but it doesn't work any differently from a normal card for online transactions.

Yeah i doubt that would change the way, phone, mail, and internet orders work. unless they had a home terminal and it can be swiped from home straight to the bank. then the cards wouldn't even need numbers on them... And they could insert it into your finger tip and you just touch shit you want to buy hows that? so this way when your an infant visa can insert credit cards in your ass and your ready to start buying shit! Imagine 0 charge backs!! whooo!

or just use the pin system over the internet. all the regular info goes to the billing company except pin number goes to visa for verification.

Nice to see the UK getting into the 20th century, perhaps the banks there will start supporting CVV2, along with the rest of Europe...

FYI -- rebills are handled differently than initial transactions when there is a cvv2 or VbV involved, and really shouldn't be affected at all as long as the proper disclosure is in place at the time of the initial subscription.

I hope that something will change, because last two weeks is ridiculous. Signup sucks!

Wow! Visa added a fucking pin number like they do debit cards so you don't have to sign a receipt and can't just steal a card! I can see why this advanced method took them forever and a fucking day to implement.

It looks to me that the card has to be present to use the chip embedded in it to defray fraud.

The 4 digit pin number over the net will never work for this particular card product over the net because the card is not present and that's the key.

Even if they would come out with a fraud free situation for the internet, it will take years for all banks to upgrade for it to be acceptable it has to be good at all banks.
