google

has anybody noticed sites missing from google that were there before when doing a URL search in the last week or so?

Evil Chris 05-21-2003 10:44 AM

Maybe they did a purge and re-listing of some sort.
Hopefully it will give some of my sites a better listing.

pantymaniac 05-21-2003 10:48 AM

this is always happens ... just their update their database..

evildick 05-21-2003 10:50 AM

Some of mine have been popping in and out like flies. Sometimes multiple times per day depending on when you search, number one spot one hour, then not listed at all the next.

They seem to be OK now though.

This update is quite fucked up indeed.

My guess is someone either fucked up big time at google, thus being unemployed ever since and the rest of the crew are trying to fix the shit, or they're just trying something new, which doesn't seem to be having much success. Hell the deepbot results are over 2 months old

delia 05-21-2003 12:40 PM

Maybe they want to change the PR formula. I've heard that before and maybe they are about to do it now. Anyway it's weird the way listings change every few days.

I agree, i think they are most likely testing something new, my guess is that it has something to do with websites w/ FAKE PR's

A few weeks ago I was reading around SE boards alot and there were many people who didn't think that was the update at all but rather some kind of test. They said that when this update did start it would be a long one. Guess they were right?
