you don't believe in 'race'? you don't think there are genetic differences in peoples based on their race? Black people have flat broad noses, kinky hair, different musculature, suffer from genetic disorders like Sickle Cell Anemia - Jews have big noses, curly hair, have their own genetic disorders like Tay Sachs Disease - and on and on with other racial/ethnic groups.

I do believe lots of differences exist between races. It's ridiculous that scientists can't study these racial differences because the minute they come up with something controversial it gets labelled 'racist'. Nobody other than racists and bigots are stupid enough to say 'All blacks are this or All Jews are that' But there are characteristics that belong to a racial group.

Everything you mentioned is nothing more than an evolutionary adaption to their particular climate. Nobody is superior and nobody is inferior because one evolved in a desert climate and the other in a "northern" environment.

And what exactly are you going to base your racial classification system on? Dentition? Genetics? Skin pigment? Its not as simple as you make it out to be. Its not hard to classify humans, thats all anthropology is.

no it wasn't a silly post. it didn't include enough information but the point is that different races possess physical and probably mental traits that as Labret says result from evolutionary adaption based on climate and other conditions.

there are generalized physical characteristics Jews possess, based on what part of the globe their ancestors were from.
same for blacks and other races.

Stereotypes always have some truth to them, they are based on these generalized physical and social characteristics. To use a stereotype against somebody, to discriminate against them, that is silly.

I disagree. Studies have shown different brain sizes, abilities, etc, but in these politically correct times that stuff is swept under the rug.

race makes a difference only in sports. that's about it. you can assume that blacks can run faster, whites can swim faster etc.. but that has nothing to do with racism.

now cultures make huge differences in people's ethics and characters. and people sharing the same culture tend to belong to the same race. racism only emerged because of this relationship.

There was a local scientist that did research on this in Ontario, studied people from various parts of the world and of different races.

He said he had data that could prove that on average asians were smartest, followed by caucasian, followed by blacks. Also did other research on things like penis size that also went in line with common stereotypes.

This caused such a stir they called a debate at a local university, he presented his data, and everyone else just basically called him names and booed him off the stage. They had David Suzuki up there to try to prove him wrong, but he didn't have much to say. It was a pretty sad affair, anyone that lives in Ontario will probably remember it being on the news years ago.

I agree, that's why I said it was a sad affair. Pretty hard to have a serious debate when there's university kids in the audience holding up derogatory signs and yelling "Go home, racist!".

Don't feel bad. The greatest schools in the world used to tell their pupils that the Earth was flat and had been created by an omnipotent, invisible guy who just happened to love Jews (although he apparently changed his mind around the first century, and decided to love everybody else instead).

It's almost as insane as the belief that homo sapien tribes who have evolved separately for 40,000 to 100,000 years are somehow equal, identical, with no intellectual disparity stemming from genetic differences. It's obviously a coincidence that some races have built great civilizations while others have been living in dirt for millenia.

You make one large wrong assumption. That being that "living in the dirt" is worse than being an SUV driving yuppy. To argue that the ultimate goal of homo sapiens is "civilization" is absurd.
